May 11, 2008 The 2008 Spring Tour of Historic Homes will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 11, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Six homes, spanning over 160 years of Little Rock history and located in the MacArthur Park and Governor’s Mansion Historic Districts, will be featured. A wide range of architectural styles will be represented including Prairie, Craftsman, Queen Anne, and Colonial Revival. This year’s tour homes include: the Charles E. Taylor House at 2312 Broadway; the Ault House at 2017 Arch; the Hill Cottage at 1913 Louisiana; the Young House at 2021 Arch; and Curran Hall at 615 East Capitol. Also featured will be a “not yet historic” urban style house (617 Cumberland) which was completed in 2006 and designed to be compatible with the surrounding historic district. Several local Realtors will have additional historic houses, which are currently for sale, open to the public. The Quapaw Quarter Association, founded in 1968, is the largest and oldest historic preservation organization in Arkansas. Its mission is to promote the preservation of historic buildings, structures, and neighborhoods in the Little Rock area. The QQA is also a Local Partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Spring Tour has been a tradition of the Association since 1963. Tour tickets are $15 per person and may be purchased on the day of the tour at Curran Hall (Little Rock Visitor Information Center), 615 E. Capitol, or at the Young House (Robinwood Bed & Breakfast), 2021 S. Arch. Click
